Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform turning work for both ends of a crankshaft with use of a single machine, by arranging turret heads at both ends of a work, holding the central part of the work with a chuck and driving the work.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided a right turret base 20 in a slide base 21 at the right side of a bed while a left turret base 11 in a slide base 12 at the left side. Then turret heads 18, 13 are rotatively indexably provided to each of the turret bases 20, 11. Machining positions of the left and right turret heads 18, 13 are controlled by motors 9, 10, 23, 19. Further a work spindle 17 rotating and driving a work 16 is axially slided by an oil hydraulic cylinder 27. A tightening device holding and driving the work 16 is housed in the work spindle 17 and controlled its tightening by an external device.
