Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve channel connection via one allocating exchanger and line if another exchanger or line is in failure, by allocating a terminal device to two exchanger stations on separate communication lines. CONSTITUTION:A terminal device 7 is connected to an exhcnaging station 3 (station number 23) normally and it is connected to an exchanging station 4 (station number 45) if the station 3 or a line 12 is in failure. The subscriber number has 6-digit for an ordinary terminal 6 and 8-digit for the terminal 7, e.g., 23456789 having both the station numbers at the head. In calling the terminal 7 from a terminal 5, the exchanging station 2 discriminates that the head figures 23 of a called number as the station number and tries connection in the path of a line 9, the exchanging station 3 and the line 12. If this is discriminated as impossible, it is discriminated as a duplex return line subscriber because of 8-digit called number. The opposing station is re-read as 45 and the connecting operation is automatically switched in the path of a line 10, the exchanging station 4, and a line 13. Thus, the communication can be continued without special operation for a calling terminal device.
