Abstract
PURPOSE: To uniformly cool the inner surface of the receiving part of a uniform-speed universal coupler outer ring by a method in which the outer ring is rotatably placed on a horizontal support plate by tunring its receiving part downwards and then hardened, and cooling water is sent into a water supply tube inside the receiving part and flowed out in a radial form by a bevelled rectifying plate at the upper end.
CONSTITUTION: The outer ring 3 of uniform-speed universal coupler is rotatably placed on a horizontal support plate 14 by arranging its receiving part 2 to face downwards and the inner surface of the receiving part is hardened. Above the opening of a water supply tube 17 inserted into the receiving part 2, a bevelled rectifying plate 13 having plural holes or slits 19 provided in an annularly connected form is provided, and beneath the support plate 4, a semi-enclosed water storage chamber 20 leading to the inside of the receiving part 2 through the support plate 4 with a water receiving plate. Cooling water is jetted from the water supply tube 17 onto the rectifying plate 13 and flowed out in a radial form through the holes or slits 19 in order to uniformly and quickly cool the inner surface of the receiving part 2. The cooling water is stored in the water storage chamber 20.
