Abstract
PURPOSE:To utilize a heater as a regenerative cooler in an air-conditioning unit having a damper disposed between an engine coupled heater and an evaporator, by cooling the heater with cold blast passing through the evaporator when the temperature of a vehicle compartment drops below a set value during cooling phase. CONSTITUTION:In case that the cooling capacity is sufficient since the temperature of a vehicle compartment is below a set value, a damper 15 is set to a position (b) for cooling a heater 11 with cold blast passing through an evaporator 6. Accordingly, the heater 11 accumulates the extra cooling power which is adapted to be consumed when the cooling capacity is not enough. Meanwhile, in case that the cooling capacity is insufficient since a compressor 1 operates at a low speed or stops, the damper 15 is displaced to the position (b) when the temperature of the vehicle compartment is higher than the surface temperature of the heater 11, but is displaced to a position (a) when the temperature of the vehicle compartment is lower than the surfaces temperature of the heater 11 so that the cold blast passing through the evaporator 6 is directly guided to the vehicle compartment. However, the damper 15 is displaced to the position (b) when the temperature of the vehicle compartment becomes higher than the surface temperature of the heater 11.
