Abstract

PURPOSE: To always execute focusing exactly and satisfactorily, by constituting so that a reflected ray from an object to be photographed, irradiated by a light source whose irradiating direction is varied on the surface containing an optical axis of a lens system is detected by a photodetecting part through a focusing lens and a zoom system.
CONSTITUTION: For instance, in a TV camera having a zoom lens, a light source part 4 is made to emit light by a signal from a signal processing circuit 7, and also the irradiating direction of the light beam is gradually varied toward the inside from the direction being in parallel with an optical axis of a lens 1. A reflected ray from an object to be photographed 6 is made incident to the lens 1, passes through a zoom system 8, is reflected by a half mirror 9 and is made incident to a photodetecting part 5. A signal corresponding to an angle of the irradiating direction is applied to the processing circuit 7, the distance is measured, and by its signal, the focus of the lens 1 is controlled through a driving part 3. In this way, the focusing is executed exactly and satisfactorily at all times.
