Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The angelic acid ester derivative of formula (the dotted lines represent the presence of a double bond at either side).
EXAMPLE: Angelic acid 3-methyl-2-butenyl ester.
USE: Perfumery and flavor. Especially perfumery for cosmetic use. It has green note and powder perfume, and can be used as perfumery for cosmetics, detergents, etc. or a flavor of foods, table luxuries, drinks, etc.
PROCESS: The compound of formula is prepared by a mixture of angelic acid methyl ester and (Z)-3-hexenyl alcohol in a solvent or without solvent in the presence of an ester exchange catalyst (e.g. dioctyltin laurate).
