PURPOSE: To remarkably lower the cooling rate of fermenting liquid and to unnecessitate heating the fermenting liquid, by dividing the interior of a main vessel body into a liquid-reserving vessel and a fermenting vessel with a partition wall, and further dividing the interior of the liquid-reserving vessel into a plurality of portions with heat-insulating horizontal partition plates.
CONSTITUTION: When methane gas is generated by fermentation of fermentable liquid 26 in a fermenting vessel 4, a part of the fermenting liquid 26 corresponding to the volume of the methane gas pushes upwards a floating plug 28 at a transfer opening 27 and flows into the lower-stage liquid-reserving chamber 14 of a liquid-reserving vessel 3. If the area occupied by methane gas inside the fermenting vessl 4 is small, heat radiation is hampered by two heat-insulating horizontal partition walls 11. If the area occupied by methane gas is substantially large, the cooling rate of the fermenting liquid 26 is reduced by the heat- insulating horizontal partition wall 11. In addition, heat radiation from a drain 8 is not done, and the fermenting liquid 26 having flown into the liquid-reserving vessel 3 becomes hardly cooled. Consequently, it is not necessary to heat the fermenting liqujd 26 when it returns into the fermenting vessel 4.
