Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the penetration of the moisture in a coating agent into a mold and to reduce drying time by pretreating the mold by the use of a water- repellent waterproofing agent prior to the use of the water-base coating agent. CONSTITUTION:Wax, paraffin, silicone wax, rosin, mineral oil, metallic soap, etc. are used as a water-repellent waterproofing agent. It is coated by a method of dissolving said waterproofing agent in an easy-to-evaporate solvent such as ethanol, dichloromethane, ''Freon '', acetone, petroleum ether or the like or spraying this in the form of a water emulsion. It is used in about 0.5-20wt% concn. range. At <=0.05%, the effect is minor, and at >=20%, it is unecnomical and is disadvantageous because it sticks during coating and causes clogging or the like.
