Abstract

PURPOSE:To control wire size by exchanging a cheap and easily exchangeable, drawing die by performing a drawing work at least once after peeling, in the manufacturing process of a flat square wire. CONSTITUTION:Roughly drawn wire 1 is supplied from a supplier 12 continuously, and is fed into a wire drawing mill 16 through a guide-wheel and drawn. The wire 1 is drawn with a drawing die 18B again after its surface skin is peeled off by a peeling machine 22 arranged at the rear stage of a capstan 20A. Mother material 2 for rolling obtained from the die 18B having the prescribed size, is obtained regardless of the dimensions of the roughly drawn wire 1 by setting the dimension of the final die 18B without changing a peeling die of the peeling machine 22. After that, the material 2 is fed into a mill 28 through a dancer-roll device 26, and is formed into a flat square wire to be coiled by a coiler 32.
