Abstract

PURPOSE:To drive a lens up to a focusing position by making a large current flow to a lens motor when it is not focused, by deciding whether a lens which has reached around its focusing position is focused or not, in a prescribed time ater only a small current has flowed to the lens motor. CONSTITUTION:An automatic focus controlling circuit 5 forms a prepin signal (a), a postpin signal (c) and a focusing deviation signal (b) in accordancd with a signal from a photoelectric element 3. These 3 signals are applied to a motor driving circuit 6, are used for driving a lens motor 7, also the prepin signal (a) and the postpin signal (c) are applied to a focusing deciding circuit 10 through an OR gate OR and an inverter INV, also the focusing deviation signal (b) is applied to a threshold value detecting circuit 8, its output is provided to a delaying circuit 9, the focusing deciding circuit 10 and a start pulse generating circuit 11 are operated by an output of the delaying circuit 9, a start pulse is generated and provided to the motor driving circuit 6, the lens motor 7 is driven, and the lens is moved to the focusing position.
