Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily manufacture glass provided with a stable, firm, thick and green metallic oxide coat with low transmittance by forming the coat having a specified composition contg. silicon oxide, cobalt oxide and aluminum oxide on a glass surface.
CONSTITUTION: The composition of the metallic oxide coat is composed of ≤30 atomic% Si, 10W90% Co and 10W90% Al as metals, and when nickel oxide is added as a color tone regulator, it is added by ≤30% as Ni while satisfying 1≤Ni/Co≤50%. Co, Al and Ni chlorides and silicic esters are dissolved in cyclohexane as a solvent, and the soln. is sprayed on a glass surface heated to 500W700°C to form the metallic oxide coat composed of Co, Al, Ni and Si oxides on the glass surface by thermal decomposition. To the soln. may be added additives such as water, acid and alkali.
