Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a zinc plated steel plate in which powdering hardly occur even under severe processing conditions, by applying on one surface of a zinc plated steel plate a lubricating composition that has been prepared by adding an emulsified or solbilized waxy material to a copolymer of an ethylenic monomer and an α-β ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: A monomer (for example: ethylene) represented by the formula, wherein R1 stands for a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R2 stands for a hydrogene atom, or a group such as -COOCH3, -COOC2H5, or the like, is copolymerized with an α-β ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid (for example: acrylic acid). After the resulting high molecular compound is alkali-emulsified or solubilized, 1W40wt% of a solubilized or emulsified waxy material (for example: natural montan wax) (as solid ratio) based on 100wt% of said high molecular compound, are added to prepare the lubricating composition. Then this lubricting composition is converted into an aqueous solution or suspention containing said composition on the order of 0.5W40.0wt%, and the solution or suspention is applied on the surface of a zinc plated steel plate in an amount of 0.2W20g/m2 (expressed as dry weight). The applied solution or suspention is dried by heat to produce the aimed zinc plated steel plate having a film capable of preventing powdering.
