Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the production of wear and noise wave from a miniature commutator motor by forming at least one of slide surfaces of a commutator segment and a brush segment of a metallic member and forming a low friction member on a plurality of ultrafine recesses formed on the surface of the member, thereby reducing the sliding loss. CONSTITUTION:Either one or both of the sliding surfaces of a commutator segment 1 and a brush segment 4 is formed of a metallic member, and a low friction member is formed on a plurality of ultrafine recesses formed on the surface of the member. For example, the brush segment 4 of a miniature commutator motor having a cylindrical commutator 3 and a brush segment 4 sliding with the segment 1 is formed of a material 4a having elastic property such as phosphorus bronze or beryllium copper. After silver palladium, silver or nickel plating is formed on the sliding part 4b with the segment 1, a low friction member such as carbon graphite is impregnated to the porous ultrafine recesses formed on the sliding part 4b by heat treatment.
