Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce driving labor exerted to a driver by automatically controlling the operation of a wiper in dependence upon the driving positions of a speed change gear. CONSTITUTION:A speed change gear 1 incorporates therein a switch which is adapted to be closed when the gear is engaged but to be opened when the gear is disengaged and is connected to an electrical supply. A wiper operating switch 5 is turned on for operating a wiper, and the gear is engaged for starting a vehicle so that a signal is delivered to a wiper unit 4 through an OR-circuit element 3, the wiper operating switch 5 and the switch disposed in the speed change gear 1, thereby the wiper is operated. The switch in the speed change gear 1 is opened when the gear is set in the neutral position, and, therefore, the wiper is stopped. Further, due to the provision of a delay circuit 2, the wiper continues to operate in a predetermined time period when the gear is shifted to the other driving position or to the neutral position during the vehicle running, and further due to the provision of a manual switch 6, the wiper may be operated even during the vehicle stopping.
