Abstract
PURPOSE:To make excellent the shape of the profile of a bit without lowering the recording sensitivity by providing an AsSeTe thin film or an As2S3 thin film between a substrate and a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The device is prepared by providing the AsSeTe thin film 2 600Angstrom or less thick and a Te recording layer 3 200Angstrom or less thick on a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) substrate 1, or by providing a PMMA layer 5, the As2S3 thin film layer 3 1,000-3,000Angstrom thick and the Te recording layer 2 on a glass substrate 4. By this constitution, the increase in noise when a signal is reproduced can be prevented and also a sharp change in the level of a reproduced signal output due to the fluctuation of a recording energy is eliminated.
