Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the shape of coil after coiling by lessening coiling tension before the tail end of a strip passes through the rolling mill or before shearing during running in the halfway. CONSTITUTION:A timing generator 10 gives a tension decrease start command to a coiling tension commanding device 7 when the tail end Se of a strip S advances a specified distance after it passed the last stand but one 1L-1. The coiling tension commanding device 7 reduces the coiling tension commanding value automatically so as to reduce the value of coiling tension from a regular tension setting value TL to a corrected tension setting value TL'. In the case where shearing is made during running on the halfway, the timing generator 10 gives a tension decrease start command to the coiling tension commanding device 7 when the intended point of shearing advances a specified distance after it passed the last stand 1L. The device 7 reduces the coiling tension commanding value automatically so as to reduce the value of coiling tension from TL to TL' before shearing is made by a traveling shearing machine 4.
