Abstract

PURPOSE:To couple an independent rotary belt type continuous casting installation directly to a hot rolling line of high productivity extremely easily by coupling said installation directly to the inlet side table of a heating furnace in the fore stage of the hot rolling line. CONSTITUTION:The slab of required thickness cast with a rotary belt type continuous casting installation 10 is cut to each prescribed length with a torch cutter 11. The cut slabs are charged through a table 12 on the inlet side of a heating furnace into a heating furnace 13 in the fore stage of the hot rolling line. The slabs heated to about 1,200 deg.C in the furnace 13 are charged into a roughing mill group 15 via an outlet side table 14 of the furnace 13, whereby they are molded to sheet bars of regulated width and thickness. Next, the sheet bars are cut of the leading ends and trailing ends with a crop shear 16, following to which the sheet bars are rolled with finishing mills 17, whereby the hot strip products are obtained.
