Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent chattering of vanes of a rotary compressor, by forming a high-pressure oil passage and an intermediate-pressure oil passage separately in the manner that they are respectivly communicated to a space defined between the rear end portion of a vane and the bottom of a vane groove, and communicating these two oil passage to each other via a relief valve. CONSTITUTION:In a rear side plate 13 of a cylinder, a high-pressure oil passage 25 and an intermediate-pressure oil passage 24 are formed separately in an arcuate form, in the manner that they are both communicated to a space defined between the rear end portion 8 of a vane 6 and the bottom 5 of a vane groove 4. The high-pressure oil passage 25 is formed with an oil passage 27 which is communicated to the intermediate pressure oil passage 24 via a relief valve 26, while an oil supply passage 28 for supplying lubricating oil from an oil sump chamber 20 via a restriction 22 is opened in the intermediate-pressure oil passage 24. Here, the pressure of lubricating oil in the high-pressure oil passage 25 is varied within a limited range determined by the properties of the relief valve 26, so that floating of the vanes 6 can be prevented effectively.
