Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled catalyst that is made by adding a titanium compound and an organic ester to a solid mixture consisting of a solid mixture prepared by crushing sepecific components together, a specific titanium compound and an organophosphorus compound, thus giving a stereospecific polymer with high bulk density.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A solid obtained by crushing (i) an acyl halide such as acetyl chloride together with a magnesium halide such as magnesium chloride, (ii) a mixture or adduct of a tetravalent titanium compound containing at least one halogen atom such as titanium tetrachloride with an organophosphorus compound containing phosphorus-halogen bonds and P=O bonds such as diethyl phosphorfluoridate are brought into contact with (B) an adduct of (iii) a titanium compound containing at least one halogen atom with (iv) an organic carboxylic ester in the form of liquid to give the objective catalyst.
