Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct errors owing to the run-out of rims in the radial direction by measuring the run-out of revolutions of the rims prior to mounting of a tire to be inspected and multiplying the rates of run-out of the revolutions by the spring constant of the tire thereby determining error quantity. CONSTITUTION:An upper rim 4 and a lower rim 21 without mounted with a tire (a) are coupled by the engagement of a mounting seat 7 and an elevating shaft 24, and are revolved. The rates of run-out in accordance with the revolutions are detected with respective run-out detectors and are stored. Next, the tire (a) is mounted and is revolved. The phase angles of the base points of the rims 4, 21 are detected and the signal for the rate of run-out of the lower rim 21 outputted from the storage circuit is corrected. The corrected signal for the rate of run-out of the rim 21 and the signal for the rate of run-out of the upper rim 4 are added and averaged respectively. Only the primary component waveform of the waveforms is extracted by a harmoric analysis circuit, and is multipled by the spring constant of the tire. This correction signal is subtracted from the fluctuation signal of the force in the radial diretion of the tire (a) from a load cell 34, whereby the influence components of the errors by the run-out of the rims 4, 21 are removed.
