Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the number of arms and to utilize the servo disk surface effectively, by using one head core as a servo core, in a magnetic head which has loaded >=2 head cores on the same arm. CONSTITUTION:A data core 4 and a servo core 5 are placed on the upper surface and the lower surface of the same position of an arm 6 (the tip side in the figure), respectively, and are connected to a recording and reproducing IC8 loaded on the arm 6 through an FPC7 whose interline space is dense. In this case, in order that a leakage signal of a recording signal flowing to a data head 1 when recording is not mixed into a servo signal, in case when the S/N ratio of a servo signal S to a leakage noise N, which is comparatively low is aviable, a desired servo core 5 and data cores 4, 4' and 4'' can be loaded on the same arm by separating a distance between a data pattern and a servo pattern of the FPC7 by >=10mm., or separately placing the FPC7 for the data pattern and the servo pattern. In case when the S/N ratio which is comparatively high is required, said measures are executed and simultaneously a magnetic substance or a metallic plate 9 is placed on the back surface of the servo core.
