Abstract
PURPOSE:To restore a battery or a cell by a simple method, and enble it to be used for a long time by reversing the polarity of the terminal voltage of a lead acid battery, which has a positive grid made of a Pb alloy containing no Sb, through compulsory discharge when the capacity of the said battery is reduced. CONSTITUTION:In a lead acid battery which is prepared by using a lead alloy containing on Sb as a positive grid, the polarity of the terminal voltage is reversed through compulsory discharge when the capacity of the battery is extremely reduced. Following that, compulsory charge is carried out at a constant current. By the means mentioned above, PbO and PbS generated within the positive plate during the use of the battery is reduced to Pb owing to discharge carried out after the reversion, and the electrical and mechanical connection between the grid and the active material is improved due to the disappearance of the barrier of the positive plate. In addition, the positive plate is normaized by compulsory charge.
