Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction for discrimination, by additionally providing a circuit detecting the presence of subcarrier and a switching circuit responsing to this output, with a circuit discriminating a television audio multiplex signal with PLL or the like and automatically switching the signal to each system. CONSTITUTION:The presence and type of a control signal received at the same time are identified with a television audio multiplex signal in FM detection by a discriminating circuit 8 using PLL and the like, and outputs 61-63 of a matrix circuit 6 are automatically switched into duplex audio, stereo and monaural broadcast via a mode switching circuit 9 with the identification outputs T1-T3. The circuit like this is provided with a circuit 11 detecting the presence of the audio subcarrier signal at duplex audio and stereo broadcast and a SW circuit 12 in switching operation is response to the outputs. Thus, at the reception of monaural broadcast, even if noise is mixed, the PLL of broad band characteristics in the circuit 8 is locked in error and not operated at a multiplex broadcast mode, allowing to make clear the distinction of multiplex broadcast and monaural broadcast.
