Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of an error in the quantity of paper to be fed using temperature difference by a construction wherein a thermal sensor is provided near the paper feeding mechanism of a printer and the quantity of paper to be fed is corrected according to the temperature measured. CONSTITUTION:A thermal sensor 4 is installed near a paper feeding roller 1 of a printer and the thermal sensor 4 is used to detect the temperature of the roller immediately before the paper is fed. An analog signal 5, or the output given by the thermal sensor 4 is converted into a digital signal 7 by an analog/digital converting circuit 6 and read by a control circuit 2. The value corrected by a quantity equivalent to the difference betweeen the quantity of paper to be fed at the above temperature without correction and the desired quantity of paper to be fed is directed to a driving circuit 3 from the control circuit 2. Thus the roller 1 turns more (or less) by the correction, but the proper quantity of paper is fed because the roller 1 has contracted (or expanded).
