Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the measurement for the curvature of a pherical surface in a simple and accurate way, by setting a slidable turning arm with scales at the lower end of a rotatable spindle in the direction orthogonal to a rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:For instance, an inner wheel (a) of the conical roll bearing is mounted to an attachment 19 which is attached to a v-block 18. Then a turning arm 10 with scales is controlled to secure a contact between a measuring element 13 and a spherical surface (b) of the wheel (a). The knobs 16 and 17 are operated to move a cross-moving table 15. Thus, the deflection is minimized for the meter of a detector 11. A screw 9 which fixes a pulley 7 to a spindle 5 is unfastened, and the position is controlled for both the arm 10 and the wheel (a) while the spindle 5 is turned manually right and left in order to avoid the deflection of the meter. Furthermore the spindle 5 is driven by a motor 4 for confirmation. In such way, the curvature radius R of a spherical surface can be measured in a simple and accurate way.
