Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a granular structure of soil efficiently and provide soil having a high utility, by adding lime and hydraulic cement to soil containing a great deal of clay or silt material and granulating the mixture while stirring and crushing it.
CONSTITUTION: Hydraulic cement (e.g. Portland cement) or a mixture of the hydraulic cement and a cement admixture (e.g., liquin sulfonate) in an amount of about half the total amount of cement is added to 1m3 of soil containing a great deal of clay or silt material and, after starting to stir the mixture, 5W20kg lime is added to the mixture. Stirring is continued thereafter. The cement is further added to the mixture until the total amount of cement reaches 30W60kg, and the mixture continues to be stirred. The quick exothermic reaction and hydration reaction of lime are started to reduce the adhesion of soil, and simultaneously the granulation of soil by means of the solidifying action of the cement and stirring is quickly exhibited to form the granular structure having a particle size of 20μW several mm.
