Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink ribbon cassette which can be easily installed and removed from a printer and is capable of printing at a high speed with light shifted operation by means of an ink ribbon guide which is installed so that is can easily shifted to a print position or a pausing position. CONSTITUTION:A ink ribbon guide 5 is installed to an ink ribbon cassette 1 at its platen 3 side so that it can be freely moved around a shaft 6 and the guide member 5 is caused to freely move to a print position by means of a solenoid 4. The guide member 5 for guiding an ink ribbon is light in weight, therefore the amount of energy to be generated by the solenoid 4 for moving the light member to the print position is very small.
