Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve low power consumption, by blocking unnecessary operation current flowing to an output side transistor (TR) of each register block with a switching circuit in response to an input signal. CONSTITUTION:An input signal from a terminal 101 is sampled at inverting and sampling MOSTRs 111 and 112 of the 1st stage register block 110A and sequentially shifted to the next stage register block 120A via inverting and sampling MOSTRs 113 and 114 at output side. This input signal controls an MOSTR116A forming a switching circuit together with a capacitor 117 operated as bootstrap capacitor, and MOSTRs 116B-116D, and when the TR113 turns on and the TR116D turns off in high speed via the capacitor 117, and unnecessary current flowing to the TR113 is interrupted other than simultaneous operation of the TRs 113 and 116D. This is the same for other blocks 120A- and shift registers with low power consumption can be formed.
