Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve scattering perfrmance of magnetic powder, by using polystylene or stylene copolymer including sulfonic acid radical or metallic sulfonate radical as a binder component for magnetic layers. CONSTITUTION:Polystylene or stylen copolymer introduced with sulfonic acid radical or metallic sulfonate radical is used as binding component of magnetic layers. For example, a magnetic paint having the composition of 100pts. gamma-Fe2O3 powder, 4pts. alpha-Fe2O3 powder, 2pts. carbon black, 22pts. partially sulfonated polystylene (0.05-3mol% of sulfonic acid content), 65pts. methyl isobutyl ketone, and 65pts. toluene, is coated on a polyester film, dried and a magnetic layer, 5mu thick is made. Thus, the scattering perfrmance of magnetic powder is improved.
