Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the number of steps of a microprogram for a microprogram control type information processor, by controlling the arithmetic operation of an arithmetic logical circuit with the output of an arithmetic mode switching circuit. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic logical circuit 8 that carries out an operation indicated by a microprogram is provided along with an arithmetic mode switching circuit 6 that selects an arithmetic mode in accordance with the conditions of the input data of the circuit 8. The arithmetic operation of the circuit 8 is controlled by the output of the circuit 6. As a result, the number of steps can be decreasd for a microprogram in case the absolute value is obtained for the fixed decimal point data.
