Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a boiling condition positively with a simple construction by using a shape memory alloy which has a deformation temperature equal to the temperature of a vapor. CONSTITUTION:A vapor chamber 21 is formed at an upper part of a side wall of a heating vessel 2, a discharge hole 25 is provided in an upper wall of the chamber 21 and a shape memory alloy 23 having a deformation temperature equal to the temperature of the vapor in concern is provided in the chamber 21. Both end of the alloy 23 is fixed respectively to the bottom 21a of the chamber 21 and to the lower end of an operating lever 22. The lever 22 is provided with a flange 24 at a lower part thereof and recesses 26, 27 at its side part so as to operate a switch 28 by pressing a movable piece 29 of the switch 29. When the vapor contacts with the shape memory alloy 23, the alloy 23 is contracted so as to close the hole 25 by the flange 24 and open the switch 28, thereby stopping the heating operation.
