Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate complicated operation for taking out jammed papers, by installing an inclined rail mechanism for placing a device near the circumference of a photosensitive drum and enabling it to be drawn out sliding on the rails. CONSTITUTION:An inclined rail mechanism 2 is installed at an angle of theta to the axis of a photosensitive drum 1 in the main body of a copying machine. The mechanism 2 consists of a fixed side rail 6 and a mobile side rail 7, and a device 3 adjacent to the circumference of the drum 1 is installed on the mobile side rail 7. The gap between the drum 1 and the device 3 is C in the state of the device 3 not drawn and the gap becomes C' when it is drawn by length l, then, the difference DELTAC becomes C=C'-C=ltantheta, that is C' gets larger than C by ltantheta, thus permitting the gap to be made larger as the device 3 is drawn out and jam clearing operation to be made easy.
