Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the disposition space of a furnace and to utilize heat effectively by forming a hot wind quick cooling chamber and a constant temp. holding chamber for constant temp. annealing of hot forgings by utilizing its own heat in the upper and lower parts in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:The respective zones of a furnace 1 are heated to prescribed temp. by the ignition of burners 17 and the operation of circulation fans 14, after which the burners 17 are put out and the hot forgings to be treated W are charged through a charging port 3 into a hot wind quick cooling chamber 2. The materials W are conveyed with a conveying mechanism 5. In the zones (a), (b), the hot wind supplied into a lower constant temp. holding chamber 6 by means of the fans 14 cools these quickly, and the hot wind is controlled with dampers 15a, 15b to about 650 deg.C. On the other hand, the hot wind circulates in the chamber 6, and is again supplied into the chamber 2. In the zones (c), (d), the hot wind in the chamber 6 is similarly controlled to about 625 deg.C and about 600 deg.C, respectively. The materials W are held at the above-described temp.s of the zones (d)-(a) in the chamber 6 during the course when they are conveyed with a conveying mechanism 7, whereby they are annealed at constant temp, after which they are discharged through an extraction port 8.
