Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power and equipment expenses and to make the equipment small by adding an elastic body in which a contact face that thrusts a work against a shearing die or a hemming die is formed and thereby eliminating the pad. CONSTITUTION:An elastic body 14 such as rubber, resin etc. on which a contact face that thrusts a work onto a punch 6 is attached to inside of a die 4 of a trimming die. Since the elastic body 14 elastically contacts with the periphery of the work 5 on the punch 6 and firmly hold the work 5, piercing by piercing punch 3 and trimming of the periphery of the work 5 can be made properly. When a die holder 1 goes up after completion of piercing and trimming, the elastic body 14 presses the work until the punch 3 and die 4 is separated from the punch 6. Accordingly, biting of the work 5 to the die 4 side can also be prevented. Though the above is related to the trimming die, it can be applied to the hemming die in the same manner.
