PURPOSE:To reduce brake noise greatly by constructing a rim part of a plurality of steel plates closely overlapping each other for obtaining the damping capacity of vibration based on frictional forces among these steel plates. CONSTITUTION:A shoe assembly 2 is constructed of two steel plates closely overlapped. Even if tortional vibration or the like is given for braking, a friction is generated between a steel plate 12 and a steel plate 14, and consequently, the vibration is rapidly damped to prevent or greatly reduce the generation of brake noise. That is, the energy of vibration of the brake shoe assembly 2 is consumed by the friction between the steel plate 12 and the steel plate 14, and converted into heat.
