Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the performance of automatic stopping mechanism of a tape recorder, by simplifying a tape termination detecting mechanism and securing an assured working of even at the time of pause. CONSTITUTION:When a recording or playback controller is operated, an idler 16 is pressed to a flywheel FW19 as well as to a drum 21 of a reel drive disk 20. The turning force of the FW16 is transmitted to the disk 20 via the idler 16 and the drum 21. Thus the disk 20 functions as a take-up reel drive disk to ensure the travelling of the tape in the stable recording or playback mode. When the tape reaches its termination under such recording or playback state, an engagement part 323 of an automatic stopping lever 32 engages a hook part 331 of a cam 33. Thus the lever 32 moves toward an arrow J to perform the automatic stopping of the recording or playback controller.
