Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably control an electric automobile and to improve the reliability of the vehicle by controlling the field of a motor only when the power of an accelerator or the rotating speed of the motor is higher than the prescribed value and the armature current of the motor is lower than the prescribed value, thereby alleviating the operating frequency of a field control circuit. CONSTITUTION:The field control circuit 50 in a controlling device for an electric automobile has a discriminator 17 which detects whether the speed command output of an accelerator 2 is higher than the prescribed value or not and a discriminator 18 which detects whether the armature current is lower than the prescribed value or not. The outputs of the discriminators 17, 18 are detected by a logic circuit 19 to control the drive of an analog switch 21 and decides to supply or not to supply the output of a weak field current setter 20 to next stage. An armature current control circuit 30 is constructed similarly to the conventional one. In this manner, the operating frequency of a field control circuit is alleviated without control the weak field irrespective of the rotating speed of a motor, thereby stably controlling the electric automobile improving the reliability of the vehicle.
