Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a test piece stable against heat, moisture and the like, so sensitive that it can detect 3-5 pieces/ml of red blood cells in urine and readily producible. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to a test piece capable of detecting a peroxiding substance contained in body fluids and waste matter discharged. In the test piece comprising a carrier impregnated with an indicator which is oxidized with accompanying changes in its color by the presence of a hydroperoxide and the peroxiding substance, the carrier contains a compound as a stabilizer given by either a general formulaIor a general formula II, and another compound as an activator given by a general formula III. R1 in formulaIrepresents hydrogen, an alkyl or aryl group and R2 represents hydrogen, an alkyl, aryl or another group, while R1 in formula II represents a methylene or ethylene group. R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 in formula III indicates hydrogen, an alkyl, amino or methoxyl group.
