Abstract

PURPOSE:A cosmetic that contains a synthetic triglyceride composition composed of specific amounts of behenic acid and branched saturated fatty acid of 8 or more carbon atoms, thus showing good actions on skin and high physical and chemical stability. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic triglyceride composition that contains, as the acid component, 0.5-1.5mole of behenic acid and more than 1mol of branched saturated fatty acid of 8 or more carbon atoms such as 2-ethylhexanoic acid on the average is used as a paste base (wax) and added to a cosmetic. The composition is colorless to pale yellow, odorless, not skin-irritating, good-touch and noncrystalline pasty wax that gelling and melting at 25-50 deg.C. Thus, it is excellent as a cosmetic base to suppress sweating and increase the stability. It is suitably used as emolliency, moisturizer or touch controller.
