Abstract

PURPOSE: A green light-emitting fluorescent lamp that is made by forming a coating of a specific fluorescent substance of divalent metal borated activated with Ce and Tb on the inner surface of a glass tube, thus being suitably used in electron copying, because of its reduced deterioration in flux and large emission output.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent substance of divalent metal borate activated with Ce and Tb with a composition of the formula (M Iis Mg, Be, Zn, or Cd; MII is Ca, Sr, Ba; 0<a≤2.0; 0≤x≤0.25; 0<y≤0.4; 0.0001≤z≤0.4) is applied to the whole inner surface of a glass tube 1 by 1.0W6.5mg/cm2 to form the fluorescent layer 2, thus giving the objective fluorescent lamp.
EFFECT: This lamp is economical, because it develops higher emission output than conventional one in spite of less application of the fluorescent substance.
