Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a composition having excellent adhesivity and suitable as a hot-melt adhesive, by compounding a modified product composed of a specific block copolymer and an unsaturated carboxylic acid (derivative) and an α- pinene polymer having a softening point higher than a specific level.
CONSTITUTION: A modified block copolymer (A) is prepared by grafting (i) a block copolymer composed of a conjugated diene compound (e.g. butadiene) and a vinyl aromatic compound (e.g. styrene) at a weight ratio of pref. 10/90W90/10 with (ii) an unsaturated carboxylic acid (derivative), e.g. maleic anhydride, pref. in an extruder under the melt mixing conditions to prevent substantially the generation of radicals. The objective composition is prepared by compounding 100pst.wt. of the component A with (B) 10W250pts. of an α-pinene polymer having a softening point of ≥60°C. The sum of the component A and B in the adhesive composition is pref. 80wt%.
