Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition having practically satisfiable weatherability and suitable for sheet, etc. at low cost, by adding zinc oxide and a small amount of di-2-ethylhexyl dithiophosphate to the basic composition of vinyl chloride resin.
CONSTITUTION: A basic composition of vinyl chloride resin obtained by compounding conventional additives such as plasticizers, stabilizers, lubricants, etc. is mixed with a weatherability-imparting agent composed of a mixture of zinc oxide (esp. obtained by the wet process) and di-2-ethylhexyl dithiophosphate, and kneaded under heating. The amounts of the zinc oxide and the dithiophosphate are 1.0W10.0pts.wt. and 0.1W4.0pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the vinyl chloride resin in the basic composition. The process can be applied both to the hard and the soft vinyl chloride resin composition.
