Abstract

PURPOSE:To register easily optional characters, by displaying a cursor on a CRT and storing the position of the cursor as a dot and generating a character with a series of dots. CONSTITUTION:In a word processor consisting of a keyboard part, a control part, and a dislay part, when a control key is depressed on a keyboard part 1 to set an optional character registering mode, a discriminating circuit 2 reports the position of the depressed key to a CPU3. Next, a cursor moving key on the keyboard part 1 is used to set the cursor in a prescribed position on the screen. When the cursor moving key is depressed, the disciminating circuit 2 reports the depression of the cursor moving key to the CPU3. A command key on the keyboard part 1 is depressed to display a dot in the cursor position, and simultaneously, the CPU3 stores it in a pertinent dot memory. This operation is repeated to generate one character.
