Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the reliability of a microcomputer system, by enabling the drop of power supply voltage and power-on reset at restoration with a discharge circuit consisting of transistors (TRs). CONSTITUTION:When a power supply voltage drops to a value where no microprocessor 3 can normally operate, a Zener diode D2 which is normally conducted is interrupted, and a TR2 is similarly interrputed from conduction, the base potential of a TR3 is increased to be conductive, and the charge of a capacitor C1 is rapidly discharged. Thus, even if the voltae restores to a normal voltage from a temporary voltage drop, since the charging of the capacitor C1 starts from sufficiently discharged state, the time required for reset can be produced.
