Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency by enabling cooling gaseous body to flow more smoothly, by providing on the inside wall of a container, in which radiation detecting elements are contained, a cooling gaseous body flowing groove in such a position as to cross a sliding groove, in which the radiation detecting elements are contained in rows. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of inside wall on the bottom of a container which contains radiation detecting elements, a sliding groove 11 for keeping the detecting elements in order is formed, and a cooling gaseous body flowing groove 12 is formed in such a position as to cross this sliding groove 11. As this arrangement enables the cooling gaseous body to flow more smoothly, it becomes able to cool each detecting element efficiently and uniformly, and since it is possible to shorten the time required for each detecting element to reach a given temperature after start of cooling operation, it becomes possible to obtain a multichannel type radiation detector which is useful for X-rays CT.
