Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the discrimination of the attained temperature area of a heat generating section in an electric appliance by detecting a gas released in the atmosphere with a combination of sensitive materials so arranged to generrate various gas products at different temperatures at the heat generating section of the electric appliance. CONSTITUTION:An SF6 gas is sealed into a metal container 1 of an electric appliance, for example, an SF6 gas-insulated electric appliance. A conductor 3 is supported with insulation in the container 1 and conductors 3 and 3 are connected electrically with a contactor 4 at a connection section 8 which forms a heat generating section. A sensitive body 6 comprises sensitive material 63, 64 and a container 61 housing them and the like. As the contact resistance of an energized contact section 8 increases, the temperature thereof rises. This raises the temperature of the sensitive materials 63, 64 and 65 due to conduction or the like thereby generating gases neutral or close to neutral at different temperature. The detection of these gases enables the discrimination of attained temperature range in the electric appliance thereby preventing the generation of accidents.
