Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the title heat transfer efficiency heat exchaner by a method wherein a plurality of baffle rods are arranged in the gaps among the finned heat pipes to thereby prevent the flow velocity of a fluid passing through the gaps from decreasing. CONSTITUTION:The heat pipes 3 are laid out in the form of a checker-board and the baffle rods or pipes 7 and 8, which are square, are arranged in the gaps among the pipes 3 in such a manner that the sides of the rods or pipes lie aslant with respect to the flow direction of the fluid passing along the heat transfer surfaces of the heat pipes and therefore, the flow of the fluid is deviated. The fluid thus deviated then passes through the gaps among the fins and flows sufficiently up to the roots of the fins without reducing its flow velocity to thereby improve the heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger.
