Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve audio recording and reproduction with a simple structure by providing a video tape recorder with an acoustic information recording and reproducing function for audio signals in addition to the function of a tape recorder, and using either a magnetic tape driving part and a magnetic head in common. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape driving part 1 and a magnetic head 2 are provided with both a magnetic tape function as a video tape and a magnetic tape function as an audio tape, and the driving part 1 is used in common. The output of this magnetic head 2 is applied to a common-use circuit 3 and circuits subsequent to the cirucit 3 is switched by a switch for video functions or audio functions. One side is a TV picture and audio information recording and reproducing circuit 4, and the other is an audio acousting inforamtion recording and reproducing circuit 6, thereby enabling a video tape recorder of simple constitution to perform audio recording and reproduction.
