Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of the formula wherein R1 is arom. ring which may have substituents; R2 is a residue of a phenol which is capable of coupling with a diazo compd.
USE: Dyes which dye organic materials such as polyester fibers yellowWorange and can dye athem clear color tone with excellent resistance to light and sublimation and fastness. They exhibit good dyeing properties in both high-temperature dyeing and carrier dyeing.
PREPARATION: 3,3-Dimethoxy-4,5,6,7-tetrachloroisoindoline-1-one, 3-imino-4,5,6,7- tetrachloroisoindoline-1-one, or 3,3,4,5,6,7-hexachloroisoindoline-1-one is reacted with an arom. diamine or an arom. nitroamine in a molar ratio of 1:1. When the nitroamine is used, the resultinga product is further reduced. The resulting arom. monoamine is diazotized. Then the diazo compd. is coupled with a phenol capable of coupling therewith.
