Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition by adding an organic tin compound to allyl chloride, thereby stabilizing allyl chloride useful as a raw material of epichlorohydrin or the preparation raw material of pharmaceuticals but liable to be decomposed by the action of light or heat.
CONSTITUTION: Allyl chloride is mixed with an organic tin compound such as methylstannoic acid, butylstannoic acid, bis(2-methoxycarbonylethyl)tin bis(isooctylmalate), etc. The amount of the tin compound is 0.01W5wt%, pref. 0.1W 3wt% of the allyl chloride compound. The performance of the titled composition can be further improved by adding an epoxy compound, an alcohol or a phenol. The composition may contain other additives such as phosphites, amines, antioxidants, ultraviolet absorbers, etc.
